1. How many hours do you usually sleep at night?
I usually spend like five to six hours a day on sleeping, which is not really recommended by doctors, I know. What's worse is that I'm only in my early 20s but I'm already experiencing something called sleep deprivation. There are days when I cannot even shut my eyes down in the middle of the night.
2. Do you like to get up early in the morning?
Unlike a lot of youngsters my age, I like getting up early in the morning to prepare myself for a new day. I used to be a jogger, spending at least 30 minutes a day on running and doing exercises in the park. But since Hanoi is overly polluted now, that habit has to stop so I tend to oversleep a lot these days.
3. How to have a good sleep?
I think the answer to this question really depends. For me, having a light dinner with no proteins might get me to sleep better. There are times when I become so desperate that I have to resort to sleeping pills, which I believe many others are depending on for a good night's sleep.
4. Do you have a nap during the day?
I think this is a good question. I usually don't spend my lunch break on sleeping at the office, but I often nod off many times during work hours. My boss is very sympathetic about this, though, since she knows my job requires endless hours of sitting in front of a computer screen.
5. Do you think sleep is important?
Yes, of course. From my perspective, sleeping plays an important role in people’s physical and psychological health. It’s the time for our body to take a rest after a long day. A good night’s sleep also helps us release our emotions and forget all the bad things that happened during the day. Just sleep on it to rise and shine on the next morning, you’ll see that early bird gets the worm.
6. How much sleep is best for you?
I’ve heard that 8 hours of sleep is the best amount of sleep that is needed for adults. But I tend to disagree with that. It seems that I can function just as well with 7 hours of sleep.
7. Is it necessary to take a nap every day?
Yes, I believe that after having lunch at noon, it’s beneficial for body to take a nap, half of hour would be enough, to brace for the tasks in the afternoon.
8. Do old people sleep a lot? Why?
Yes, I guess the elderly people do need to sleep more. I believe the reason is that after years of working, stress and the natural process breaks down people’s body until all they want to do is sleep, consequently, their bodies take longer to recharge the batteries.
