Yes, ever since I was a child, my parents have taught me about the value of money. Back then, my only source of income was the lucky money I received during Tet festivals. I established my own piggy bank and fed it with every dollar I got. So far, the pig is quite big, you know.
4. Have you ever given money to other children?

Of course, they do. I would say that Vietnamese parents are quite relaxed when it comes to giving their children pocket money. I even know some moms, who are trying to teach their kids some responsibilities and use allowance as rewards for them every time they perfectly finish a household chore.
7. Describe a time that you saved money for something.
“I had to save a large sum of money when I bought my first car for more conveniently traveling to work. I can’t remember the exact date, but I suspect it’s 6 years ago.
On top of that, this was when I left home to live independently, and I wanted to pay my own way, so I refused to lend money from my parents. It all seems that I was living on the breadline and couldn’t afford this purchase. Fortunately, I had a full-time job and earned a good salary and an extra income from some freelance projects during my free time. But it may take years to get enough money to buy my car if I just kept living in the fast lane. So, to save money, I decided to cut down on luxuries and avoid exceeding my agreed credit limit. Then, I called my financial consultant and accepted a bank loan for my purchase. Also, I didn’t miss this opportunity to get a good deal as the car price was going cheap, and finally, I can drive to work every day.
I was very comfortable with my car and satisfied with my saving. But I think the point is I learn a saving lesson and make my saving habit for bigger money like buying a house in the future.”

Everyone has their own way of saving money. I guess the best way this open a bank account and keep a healthy bank balance. This way may suit those who have a steady income and intend to supplement it. Another way would be to cut down on luxuries and don’t pay out a lot of money on unnecessary.
12. What are the consequences of not saving money?
Without saving money, I think people will get into trouble with their personal finance.
